Testimonials:
When I first heard about somatic therapy I will admit I was a bit skeptical of what it could do for me but I was open and willing to try anything outside of traditional therapy, which had not done much for me in the past. Plagued by anxiety and fear throughout most of my life I was very nervous meeting Michael for the first time but he made me feel immediately at ease, and eventually I found great comfort and safety in his presence. Michael has given me so many tools to cope with not only my anxiety and past traumas but also the ups and downs of every day life. The work that we did is indescribable. I am beyond thankful for his knowledge and abilities, as well as I am proud of myself for showing up. -Kristina Hrizak
Michael is a natural at helping others ground themselves while exploring one’s inner world through our sensations, feelings and movement. The process takes you deeper than you’ve been before in a faster way while feeling safe and protected. I highly recommend his healing practice. -Flora Torra
Michael is compassionate and skilled in Somatic Experiencing . He is intuitive and patient. I have been transformed while working with him. Having had experienced early childhood trauma and abuse, the safe environment that Michael provides has helped me heal on many levels. I am discovering the person I was meant too be. -Ann Jacoby
I had a very positive experience with Michael doing somatic experiencing work. He has a friendly and warm presence, which I appreciated, is genuinely caring, and also very knowledgeable about the work he practices. I would strongly recommend him to anyone interested in or needing a practitioner who does trauma resolution, personal development, and can hold a very healing space. -Darla Bruno
My time with Michael was transformative. I’ve moved across the country, but, every day, I take a silent moment to thank him for the impact he had, and has, on my spirituality. Michael was a guru, a master, a seer, a listener, a talker, a facilitator; he was whatever he needed to be, session to session, moment to moment, for me to achieve maximum growth. He spoke from the wisdom of many disciplines, but, thankfully, there was no identifiable agenda, no curriculum, no formula he bent me into. It was just he and I, and with incredible intuition, Michael guided me so I could find what I was seeking.
"Zen can’t be taught, only learned." Michael didn’t teach or preach; he seemed to float down a river with me. Through his wisdom, I was able to find the path and start to experience the spirituality I sought. All that I had read and experienced spiritually started to weave into my soul under his watchful eyes. People ask, “What does Michael do?” All I can say is, “He is my Spirit Guy.” -Dan Blore
Having Michael as a coach really helped me in my everyday life; he has taught me to meet each moment with acceptance and gratitude. I’m a happier person now - able to form more intimate and open relationships with loved ones. There is so much freedom in seeing things clearly and Michael was instrumental in helping me do this. — Joseph Woodbury
There are any number of coaches and therapists out there, and over the years I have tried quite a few. Not one of them had the wisdom of Michael Kane. Michael is an exceptional individual with uncommon insight, with the ability to help people see their world in a new light. Michael and I had coaching sessions by phone over the course of six months. Because of his ability to impart a view of my life like no other had done, what I gained from these sessions has transformed my thinking and how I react to events in my life. I have turned a corner in my understanding of myself and how I relate to those around me. Amazingly, the wisdom Michael provided was so profound that it has had a lasting effect. I read one definition of "coach" as a "motorcoach" -- a large motor vehicle for conveying passengers on excursions and on longer distance scheduled transport between cities - or even between countries. As my "coach", Michael transported me to a place of peace and understanding. — Genna W.
Gratitude is arising for the coaching calls. They helped in allowing me to put what I learned into practice, and rest in unconditioned awareness. As barriers came up, it was helpful to look at them and let them go. Simply being together in the silence of unconditioned awareness was uplifting also. Thank you so much. — Marilyn S.
I am fortunate to have had you for a teacher and that makes me smile :) . In the tiny space of time I practiced with you and the Sanga, you were able to transmit to me, what I still am discovering to be real stillness. It is one of the most important and influential times of my life. Compassion and laughter THANK YOU. —Robert A.
I have been thrilled to participate in three retreats with Michael at Atlantic Center for the Arts, and have also benefited greatly from personal counseling with him. I have meditated and practiced yoga for many years and in the past several years my practice had fallen into a doldrums. In learning new techniques, and listening to talks and dialogues from Michael, my practice has been invigorated. The Emotional Connection technique and the general instructions of just opening to the present moment, just being with whatever arises, have taken root within me and very quietly and steadily blossomed within me in as a bright explosiveness in every cell of my being. —Liz H.
Dear Michael,
The lessons that I have learned are very subtle for me as I have been working with breath for many years. Natural meditation is enhanced for me by the sounds of nature itself. In my morning meditations, the sounds of nature, birds, cicadas, squirrels, keep me connected with the earth and with my life purpose by helping me plant each foot firmly on the earth. The exercises that you gave us are invaluable, especially the judgment of self and others. These lessons burrow deep into the soul self for sort of a "deep cleaning". —Joy Sue-P., Master Feng Shui Consultant
Michael Kane is a unique teacher. He combines Buddhist principles, mindfulness practice and loving presence to create a container for assisting students to more fully realize their true nature. He is adept at deepening silence and from that silence coming forth with spontaneous clarity.
